These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the supply of electrical and security services by Local Electrical Services Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") to you ("you", "the customer"). By booking a service, accepting a quote or instructing us to commence work, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Our services
We provide licensed electrical and security services across the Sydney metropolitan area, including residential, commercial and emergency work. All electrical work is performed by qualified electricians licensed by NSW Fair Trading.
2. Quotes and pricing
- Quotes for planned electrical work are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
- Quotes are based on the scope of work described. Variations, additional materials or unforeseen site conditions may incur additional charges, which we will discuss with you before proceeding.
- Emergency callouts may attract a service call fee, which will be communicated upfront when you book.
- All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST unless stated otherwise.
3. Bookings and cancellations
- Bookings are confirmed by phone, email or via our online booking form.
- We respect your time. If we are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, we will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule.
- If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice where practicable.
4. Payment
- Payment is due on completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept bank transfer, credit card and cash. Surcharges may apply to certain payment methods.
- For larger jobs, a deposit may be required before work commences. Final payment is due on completion.
- Overdue invoices may incur interest at the rate prescribed under the Civil Procedure Act 2005 (NSW).
5. Workmanship guarantee
We provide a lifetime workmanship guarantee on the labour component of all electrical work. If our workmanship fails, we will return to fix it at no additional cost. Manufacturer warranties on parts and equipment are passed through to you and are subject to the manufacturer's terms.
This guarantee does not cover faults caused by misuse, modification by others, third-party tampering, normal wear, or events outside our control (including storms, surges and rodent damage).
6. Site safety and access
- You must provide safe access to the site and any areas where work is to be performed.
- You must inform us of any known hazards (including asbestos, hazardous materials or unsafe structures) before work begins.
- We may stop work if we identify an unsafe condition. We will discuss next steps with you before proceeding.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our liability for any loss, damage or claim arising from our services is limited to re-supplying the services or paying for the cost of re-supply.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including loss of profits, business interruption or loss of data).
- Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
9. Privacy
Our handling of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, images, logos and designs — is owned by Local Electrical Services or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce or republish content without our written permission.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. The version of the Terms in force at the time you book a service will apply to that booking.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
